Problem
The slenderness check for double angles as per AISC Unified code (AISC 360 ) is incorrect as the software is calculating the value considering the full length of the member ignoring any LY or LZ parameters that may be set by the user.
Although the slenderness check is incorrect and the incorrect value is being reported for the slenderness, however the software is using the correct value of slenderness for the compression capacity calculations.
Workaround
As a work around, users can specify the MAIN and TMAIN parameters with high allowable slenderness values to "skip" the slenderness check and proceed with the strength check.
Solution
Will be addressed in the STAAD.Pro Connect Edition to be released in the middle of 2017.
